Teams are built and rebuilt all the time! Teams exist for many purposes - some are project-oriented, some share a common function, others are groups of individuals in the same physical space. If you are about to form a new team or are looking to transform an existing team we can help you with everything from recruitment and selection through orientation and goal-setting.

Team Building

All highly effective teams need to spend time building strong relationships and developing trust between the members. The kind of synergy that teams are capable of can't be achieved without mutual understanding and commitment. We can help you build great cohesivness in your team, and lay the foundations for high performance.

And it's not just newly created teams that can benefit from a Way Ahead team-buildng workshop; if the team has recently acquired new people, you need to consider what needs to be done to get the new member(s) on board.

Way Ahead Team programs will help each team member:

  • develop an understanding of what makes a great team,
  • improve awareness of each other's strengths and motivations,
  • gain clarity about team roles and responsibilities, and
  • build trust in each other .

Team Effectiveness

Team Effectiveness is about exploring what the team leader and members need to do to be effective and successful. Is everyone on the same page when it comes to understanding team objectives and how they are measured?

What is the leader's role? Do the team members understand their own roles? Do they know each other's roles? Do team members have a shared vision of the characteristics of great teams? How many of these attributes can be found in the team you lead, or are a part of?

We will help you to:

  • Build the behaviors which make teams effective;
  • Ensure there is a common and understood team goal;
  • Understand how your team agrees and keeps its priorities;
  • Develop the tools to measure, evaluate and improve team results.
To increase the effectiveness of our facilitation we will typically work with individual team members ahead of time. This can include one-to-one conversations as well as the use of team type assessment materials.

Our facilitation and coaching is available to you as your team develops the way forward and aquires the skills needed to implement and evaluate agreed actions.

Team Leadership

Your effectiveness as Team Leader is critical to the overall success and performance of your team. WayAhead works with Team Leaders as part of our Team Develop program – typically meeting with you individually to help you:

  • Develop your role as Team Leader;
  • Understand the characteristics of a good team;
  • Identify how many of these attributes can be found in your team;
  • Ensure you can communicate the overall mission and objectives of your team;
  • Practice and improve Team Leadership skills.
